Walk for Clues

Turn daily steps into a collaborative team mystery

Teams bank their steps to buy clues to a riddle, then work out the answer together. Every clue costs steps, every member gets one guess a day, and a correct answer sends the team up the leaderboard.

A team challenge built around mystery and movement

See how simple it is for teams to background-sync their daily movement, unlock interactive virtual map tiles, and collaborate on brain-teasing trivia together.

  1. Step 1: Form your squad

Employees assemble into teams of 5. This intentionally bridges internal corporate silos, mixing cross-border offices, managers, and new hires into a single unit.

  2. Step 2: Step to unlock

Team members securely background-sync their steps. As the collective step pool grows, interactive riddle tiles automatically unlock on the virtual event map.

  3. Step 3: Crack the trivia

Teams must work together to solve the collaborative trivia questions hiding behind each tile. Correct answers rocket your squad up the organizational ledger.

Business impact

A health initiative built for long-term retention

While employees focus on the mystery and collaborative gameplay, the PhanTribe platform runs autonomously to deliver meaningful cultural, health, and operational returns.

  • High organic inclusion

Most health initiatives fail because they only engage the top 10% of active fitness enthusiasts. Walk for Clues shifts the spotlight entirely to group problem-solving and collective step pooling, creating a low-pressure environment where every employee feels motivated to contribute.

  • Silo-busting collaboration

Cross-departmental communication doesn't happen by accident. By requiring squads to collaborate on daily brain-teasing trivia maps, this format breaks down structural silos. Employees organically build social relationships outside of rigid calendar invites and formal work meetings.

  • Zero administration overhead

You shouldn't need a secondary full-time job just to manage a corporate challenge. The entire event runs on complete autopilot - from our ready-to-share launch communication toolkits to automated device data syncing and instant final reporting dashboards.
